Just a few kilometers west of Albufeira you have the opportunity to go horse riding through the coastal dunes along the infinite beach of Praia Grande in between Galé and Armãção de Pêra. Experienced bilingual guides from the local riding centre accompany participants from all riding levels on horse as well as pony rides. The dunes separate the Salgados lagoon from the Atlantic ocean. The Lagoon is a bird watcher's hotspot, considered Important Bird Area by Birdlife International making this untouched and diverse part of Algarve an interesting site to visit not only for jockeys, but for nature lovers in general.
